Caught up in the moments of darkness

Things don't always seem real until they actually happen to you. We always hear of people's stories during their most fearful moments and we laugh it off as it usually comes out as a big joke. Well this time, it was me and it was real.
Walking stealthily along the pavements of the Riverside Drive, all alone at around midnight and vulnerable to all sorts of occurrences, I have only one person in mind to trust, My Creator.
The Musical me is encouraging me to utter some lyrics while the scared me disagrees. As I maneuver my way to the main road, I keep encouraging myself to remain strong for some few minutes as the Bus will come by shortly. Well, this was all in my mind.
Its crazy how things always happen contrary to the moment's expectations. All I could see were private vehicles hooting one after another. They had already branded me 'the one on call'. This scared me. My class session was so amazing. With our lead coach making her way into my character and sending it right in that it's never what you say but HOW you say it, I lost track of time.
In addition, I didn't have keys to my house. I had reduced myself to that timid lady walking all alone in the dark with no where to go. I waited for the bus for what seemed like two centuries. Tears of fear found their way down my tiny dark nose. Well, its usually not that dark. I couldn't control it though. I regretted ever accepting the offer to attend the night classes.
People passed by hurriedly in groups staring at me. They wondered how courageous I was to creep through that road all alone. If only they knew the options I had. I have never hanged on a bus before. But that scary Wednesday night reduced me to a lady Conductor. I strongly held onto the bus door and waited for my turn to alight.
I get in town all confused and with no idea of where I actually am at the moment. All i knew is that i had to get home and i did.
Luckily, I crashed in someone's house but the thought of just how lucky I was kept knocking.
I tend to believe that God is always looking out for me in different ways. Some things we take for granted but this was just a sign that Someone up there always has my back.
The music I sang gave me the courage and hope to hang onto. Now I know, its never real until it actually happens to you.
